YES! One of the perks of becoming a member and accessing the reference images and instruction is that you may use your own artwork how ever you choose. I believe every work of art, even if created with the help of instruction, is embedded with your own style and artistic choices.
Please feel free to gift, sell, and exhibit your creations. Keep in mind, however, that if you DO decide to enter your work in competitions, it is usually a requirement that you use only your own original reference images.
My team and I would love to help you with any further membership or technical questions! Email us at [email protected].

4.9 rating out of 5.0
I’ve always loved your paintings and friendly, positive presentations. You have created an awesome teaching program. I am impressed.
Love doing the daily challenges. Even though I am more of a realistic, detailed person due to my graphic design background, these are great for being a bit looser and techniques. Emily is a wonderful teacher and I look forward to the daily challenges.
I had seen a number of Emily’s YouTube videos and thought what a wonderfully talented artist she is and that I could learn much from her, so I decided to join her Watercolor Mastery course to see what it was all about , if I could get the help I needed, and if it was what I’d been searching for whenever I perused the internet.
The reason I joined was because I was having a VERY difficult time with my values and controlling my washes so needed someone with expertise to help me. I am doing the 30 day challenge and this is one of the best decisions I’ve made because I’ve had to get out of my comfort zone a few times by painting subjects I would never have chosen, let alone tackled in the past, thinking I could never do them. I am learning a lot, doing it at my own pace, and loving every minute of it. In the short time I’ve been taking this course I have grown in my painting skills. Oh don’t get me wrong … I’ve a way to go still, but I’m getting there!
Once I have painted the daily challenge I feel free to explore other subjects Emily teaches. For instance I’ve painted still life, landscapes, some bonuses and my favourite… animals! I’ve discovered that I love painting them and hope to become more proficient in the future, and that , of course, comes with practice. I know that I’ve a lot to learn and Emily Olsen is just the person to teach me! She is enthusiastic, friendly, concise, giving very clear instructions as I follow along with her every step of the way. I love that there’s no set time to do the challenges. I truly love her enthusiastic passion for painting and passing on her knowledge to others… that to me is priceless!!
In the short time since I’ve joined I have more confidence not only in the control my washes and tones but as a watercolor artist. I now understand what I had been doing wrong before Watercolor Mastery and I can’t recommend this course enough… I am so happy I joined: it’s money well spent!
I am a complete newbie to water colors. I am very familiar with oils but when I tried to to watercolor it was a fail on my part. I saw your mastery class and thought it looked good. I am about halfway through the 30 day challenge and so far I love it. You are such a great teacher. The only thing I have a problem with is choosing the colors you suggest! I don’t know the color names yet so I’m guessing. I know that is not good practice but I’m trying not to let it be a problem. Do you have suggestions for learning them. I bought a much bigger pallet than needed I think so I think that is confusing me. All in all, thank you for starting me on my journey to learn something I have always wanted to do!
Emily is a wonderful teacher, her camera positioning allows you to see exactly what she is doing while providing an excellent explanation of what is happening.
I love Watercolor Mastery. I have learned so many techniques to help my paintings look like I want them to look. I love the daily challenges to keep me practicing regularly. There are options such as line drawings to download if the drawings are more complicated, but also great instruction on drawing what you see in a photo. There are so many other resources as well, such as recommended paper, brushes, paints, and a multitude of video lessons. I started in mid February and have already filled one sketchbook and working on the next. For years I’ve been saying, “One day I’m going to start painting,” but now I’m actually doing it and having so much fun!
I really enjoy the lesson
Great, because there’s something I **REALLY** want to tell you…
Those frustrating painting sessions with constant uncertainty and watercolors that don’t turn out like you hoped.
All you have to do is take the the first step.
And if that step isn’t towards Watercolor Mastery then THAT’S OK!
( I’m not trying to guilt you into something you won’t use )
