I didn’t know you were required to paint each day. I have health issues and thought this was a “go at your own pace” membership. I need to either drop out or be reassured I can pace myself. What I’ve seen so far is excellent!

I had just finished your “free” class on painting a Daisy. I have taken a few courses, but I was impressed with your teaching methods. Your outline of what paints to use, brushes and paper plus the outline to trace if needed in addition to the picture. You made it so easy to follow by not rushing the project and informing what paints to mix etc. I had started watercolor during COVID and had taken online courses, but none can compare with your instruction. Lately, I have felt uninspired and going nowhere then your email popped up. Anyway, Emily thank you and I have signed up. Keep up the wonderful instructive classes.
I’m a real art beginner, let alone watercolor beginner. And I’m not very patient so I skipped all the swatchy stuff, etc. (I may go back to it eventually) and just bought some watercolor paints on sale. Um, tried the cheap paper route but that WAS frustrating and now I have middle-of-the-road stuff. Anyway, my first tutorial was on the cats’ backs, and it was so fun that I made a whole bunch as greeting cards! It really gave me a confidence boost, and it was so easy to follow the tutorial step by step! I just pause it when I need to catch up, or rewind a bit. I’m on lesson 5, and learning brush strokes, water amounts, etc. while still painting the real deal. Yes, I consider this learning so I’m not expecting myself to be Van Gough but I’d rather learn this way than making swatches! The most important thing I’ve learned so far is that “being brave” and starting doesn’t mean it’s going to end up great, but not starting means I’ll end up nowhere. And Emily is so reassuring, and shares her failure stories as well. Without Watercolor Mastery, I’d be wasting my “me” time on things that I won’t even remember by next week.
My skills have grown a lot since I joined watercolor mastery. I had absolutely no idea how to paint in watercolors. Everything was thick paint over dry paper. I had no idea about wet on wet, wet on dry and all the other techniques. The daily challenges are so interesting.
