I have learned so much in just a week of joining. Some pieces I sit back and think “Wow, I did that !” Amazing tutorials. I find that if I watch a certain challenge a few times before I paint it it helps a lot. Otherwise I do a lot of pausing. My issue was always to hurry, and also use way too much paint. Without watercolor mastery, I would never had been able to work more precisely water on water. I stumbled across Emily’s free tutorials and was hooked. Having been told by my watercolor instructor that I needed to practice daily, I knew that was a necessary habit, but was stuck in indecision of what to paint and everything I chose took soooo long. Emily has daily (on weekdays) challenges accompanied by a 30 minute (or so) tutorial. She shows how to accomplish the painting and then I am able to jump in and do it on my own. I wanted to paint my daughter’s dogs, both are black & white. I had very little experience, years prior, and only painted flowers. Thanks to google, I found Emily’s site and signed up for a year of learning. I watched her videos about how to paint black fur, how to paint white fur, for hours-over & over again.
